Job Summary
The Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Technician will install, inspect, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical, and instrumentation systems used in an industrial facility. The I&E Technician will be instrumental in the successful completion, startup, and maintenance of the Baytown UMO/HDT plant. The I&E Technician will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Job Responsibilities

The Instrument and Electrical Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing instrumentation and electrical equipment.
Troubleshoot (480v) motors, motor starters, VFDs, MCCs, transformers, circuit breakers, and electrical distribution systems.
Read P&IDs, loop drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, cause-and-effect charts, and equipment manuals.
Climb ladders, work at heights, enter confined spaces, lift at least 50 pounds, and work outdoors in industrial conditions.

Familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLC, and Safety Instrumented System operation and troubleshooting.

• Work independently, respond to emergency callouts, and participate in on-call rotation.

Ensure all tasks are completed in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of NEC requirements, hazardous-area classifications, grounding, bonding, and intrinsically safe systems.
Requires a high school diploma or graduation from a technical or trade school.
Typically requires 5-7 years of related experience with a track record of meeting timelines and budgets.
Committed work ethic, positive attitude, collaborative nature, and eagerness to learn.
Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and ability to analyze complex systems and data.
Proficiency in relevant computer programs and diagnostic tools.
